We would like to thank you for two jobs that were done well and timely. The first one, in 2011, involved my mother, Alice Minett's cottage, which is next door to ours. This job was much more complex due to its age (more than 50 years old) and its unusual double A-Frame design. The siding and all window replacement products that you recommended, as well as the suppliers, were exactly what was needed to keep the original feeling of the cottage while preparing it for the next 50 years. We have been particularly pleased with the quality of finishing and attenion to detail. You were very accommodating in the number of small changes we requested and handled two major issues - the intrusion into the septic bed and the delivery of the wrong windows - very professionally. I took over the family cottage and decided to demolish part of it and build a new permanent home. My greatest fear in this endeavour was finding a local contractor that I could trust. Being in the engineering business myself, I deal with contractors on a daily basis and as we all know, there are many different types. Henderson Homes had a solid reputation in the area and was known as being trustworthy. I spoke to several people whose homes John built and was impressed by what I heard. Since my project was a custom home, I had many ideas and with the help of John, was able to get a set of plans I was satisfied with. From the building permit through completion of construction, John was efficient, timely and on budget. Since Henderson Homes was established, I have used John and his crew for other projects and was equally satisfied. This letter is to recommend John Henderson as a builder. John bilt our home in 2005 and we were extremely pleased with how the work progressed on our home. John handled everything from design to permits to custom build. Every deadline was met without fail and John consistently kept us up to date on the building progress. The quality exceeded our expectations and has resulted in our home being extremely comfortable as well as a solid investment. John was a pleasure to work with and he was very willing to listen to any new ideas we came up with along the way. John quite often came up with further improvements that he could see as benefiting the final construction of our home. One such example would be the enclosed back porch that he suggest we add to our plans, as well as engineering a structural wall that resulted in a more open plan. These have ended up to be an invaluable addition for the enjoyment of our living space. John has done many projects in the area that we have toured and we were proud to have him build our home. In this day and age, it is refreshing to have an honest quality builder complete a project on time and within budget and without incident. We would not hesitate to recommend John for any construction and/or renovation projects. We fully intend to use him in the future if required.
I have had John Henderson do renovations and an additon on one home and build another home. He gave me the estimates quickly and all jobs came withing the original budget. When there was a change he did discuss it with me and all jobs and price changes were mutually agreed upon prior to being done.
I was also impressed that the work was done in a timely fashion and that the workers were on site when they said they would be. This was a important factor to me as I had had problems previously with another contractor always running late with his work.
John has done small and large jobs over the past several years and I have always been pleased with the work that was done. I would highly recommend Henderson Homes.
I highly recommend John Henderson's company as he recently completed some major work replacing the roof and footings of my cottage on Georgian Bay. He provided me with a detailed estimate of work required and then scheduled and completed the work very quickly. John's crew worked efficiently, demonstrating a high degree of professionalism and expertise. John kept me updated on the progress of all work and quickly flagged unforeseen deficiencies discovered as the work proceeded. He outlined what the problems were and made recommendations on what needed to be done to rectify these. The final decision was left up to me. During construction John worked closely with Township building inspectors to make sure that all work met codes and all inspections were completed as required.
The caliber of the work done by Henderson Custom Homes was fantastic and I am every happy with the results. It has been a pleasure to work with John and I would not hesitate to hire his company again for any building projects in future.
